China Electromechanical Trade Center (hereinafter referred to as “CETC”) set up by the former Ministry of Machine Industry 1992 in Waigaoqiao Bonded Zone in Pudong, Shanghai, is a service-oriented company for international information exchange and commodities trading.
According to the Government's requirements and by virtue of a number of preferential policies, the CETC provides a multi-channel service platform for the foreign mechanical and electrical enterprises and products to get convenient and smooth accesses to the Chinese market, including nearly a thousand foreign enterprises (including the world's top 500 enterprises) registered in the CETC. Meanwhile, the company provides the bonded exhibition, storage, sales of imported goods, industrial information release of companies and products, logistics, trading and agency, and consultants of various regulations and policies.
The CETC has entered into close collaborative relationships with China Machinery Industry Federation (the former Ministry of Ministry of Machine Industry), and its subordinated more than 30 business associations (China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, Society of Automotive Engineers of China, China Internal Combustion Engine Industry Association, China General Machine Components Industry Association, China Machine Tool & Toolbuilders’ Association, Chinese Association of Agricultural Machinery, China Construction Machinery Association, China Heavy Machinery Industry Association, China Gear Manufacturers Association, etc.), Shanghai World Trade Center Association, China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, and China Chamber of Commerce for Import & Export of Machinery & Electronics Products. Moreover, it has established extensive and close contacts with the Russian Federation Chamber of Commerce, and a number of European and American business associations.
The CETC implements corporation membership, providing market member enterprises the following services:
I. Chinese and foreign enterprises who, by the CETC, have registered as Waigaoqiao Bonded Zone members will be entitled to existing preferential tax policies of the Bonded Zone, respectively:
The state financial subsidies and reimbursement of part of income taxes; and
The state financial subsidies and reimbursement of part of VAT.
II. Functions of the CETC
To provide members with “one-stop” services ranging from trade consulting to registration of companies, proxy imports and exports, all kinds of import and export licenses handling, customs clearance, and bonded warehousing;
To allow member companies to exhibition their import and export commodities in the Bonded Zone, to carry out goods trade and economic activities in exhibition halls, and through various industry associations’ recommendation, to organize members to participate in various professional exhibitions and user docking activities;
To publicize and promote members’ products through various chambers of commerce, meetings or activities of professional trade associations and journals at request; and
To arrange on customers’ behalf for various procedures, including annual inspection, modification, application and attestation of preferential treatments etc.
